Child Care for Newcomer Children

When you are attending LINC classes, you can register your child (aged 18 months to 5 years old) in our licensed LINC Child Care Program for free. Our Settlement Services also offer child care for some of their programs to meet your needs. Newcomer children come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for their first Canadian learning experience. We respect and value each child’s uniqueness. With thoughtfulness and attentive care, our educators are committed to supporting your child’s individual needs and development while you are adapting to your new life in Canada.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is based on the British Columbia Early Learning Framework which guides and supports the rich early learning experiences of children. Taking inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, we value the child as capable, resilient, and having 100 languages to discover the world with. Working alongside young children and their families, we strive to create a collective space for relationship building and meaning making.

Our Educators

Our lead teachers at both locations are experienced early childhood educators with Post-Basic Certificates (Infant and Toddler Educator and/or Special Needs Educator). They are passionate and knowledgeable about working alongside children with multicultural backgrounds.

Our Space

Our play-based program creates an inclusive and nurturing space for newcomer children to grow and thrive. Play improves the physical, cognitive, linguistic, and social-emotional development of young children. Inspired by emergent curricula, our program creates learning experiences in the following areas: art/sensory, language, dramatic play, music, block and construction, science and nature, and gross/fine motor skills.
