Seniors (55+)

Programs for older adults at LMNHS are getting ready to launch for 2023!

We are excited to announce the Strengthening Social connections project and the hiring of two new, part-time positions to support seniors’ programs over the next year. We will begin by creating opportunities for older adults living in the community to share about what they want and need. We will collaborate with older adults to grow a more resilient community for all community members and explore long term solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change and extreme climate events.

Over the next year, events and activities will include:

  • Seniors Forum – an opportunity for older adults to share ideas, strengths, needs and dreams to make sure the Little Mountain/Riley Park community is a great place for older adults to live
  • Train the trainer – opportunity for training and support to lead a wide range of self-run activities.
  • Dialogue circles and planning groups to generate ideas to increase supports for older adults during extreme climate events.
  • Events, activities and local trips.
